Strong Foundation Youth Ministries (Ages:
14 to 18) – Kim
Eason
"Train up the child in the way he should go: and when he
is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6
Purpose: First, to teach youths the foundation
of walking in the light and liberty of Jesus Christ. Making
them aware that Jesus Christ should be there foundation
of their walk of life. Bringing out the importance of salvation even at there
age. Second, to develop relationships with the youth, in such that they feel
comfortable talking, asking questions, and concerns to God first, there parents
and leaders of the church. Expecting a truthful response from them. Giving
respect to elders. Third, to have youth reach out to the community.
Get them more involved
in volunteer work. Letting them know why it is important to help out in the
communities. Examples of community outreach, tutoring younger
children, being a mentor, clothes
drive, food drives, volunteering rest homes to read to the elderly, talk with
elderly. Last, to provide youth outings. Youth need a safe outlet, this will
not only give the parents peace of mind of who there kids are hanging out with
or what they are doing while they are out. The group would go out with the
adult group leader(s), to different outings, (movies, baseball
games, bowling). They
will be able to invite other friends from school. All outings are supervised.

Children’s
Enrichment " Children
of the KING" - Deaconess Leslie Robinson
"Train a child in the way he should go and when he is
old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6
Children of the KING outreach ministry. We seek to provide a program for children
whose foundation is based on the belief that raising a child of God is a cooperative
effort between the church, the school and the home.
The CEP is open to elementary and middle school age children on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays from 6:30pm-8:30pm. CEP offers an atmosphere of love in which children
are allowed to develop social, verbal, motor and spiritual skills at their
own level. We recognize each child is a unique individual created by God. We
offer
tutoring in math and reading, basic Bible principles and scripture memorization.
We also provide the spiritual tools, tasks, and talent to help children build
the deep spiritual foundation that will give them the kind of vitality that
perseveres through the extraordinary days ahead.

Publications/Public
Relations – Brother John Riddick, Jr.
Just as important as it is that YOU are an
outstanding, positive addition to the body of Christ, likewise
it is very important that whenever and wherever you see Disciples
of Christ in print or broadcast, that level of excellence is
exhibited. The symbol for our church represents the God we
serve. Don’t you have pride in the God you serve? Our
ministry is steadily growing…measured by the number souls
we are able to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. From humble beginnings with business cards and a newsletter
to bookmarks, clothing and television commercials, we are steadily
evolving while maintaining the excellence and visual aesthetic
that we are called to. As with several of the other ministries,
the skills involved with our ministry can be used as job training
and/or experience.
The Disciples of Christ Family travels to many churches around the country,
and it is our job to make sure that our members know AND that the people and
churches where we are appearing know the WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WHEN.

Audio/Visual
Ministry – Rev. Emmanuel
Bass
We bring forth the Word of God to televisions and radios
across the nation. It is our responsibility to make certain
that the appearance and quality of
our message is the best possible at all times, as our work is on the forefront
and in the public eye. Oftentimes, the first contact a person will have with
GLCC will be an audio tape or video broadcast. It is our job to make that
first impression a positive and lasting one. Amen!
The equipment and terminology that we use is not any different than other
professional videographers. The skills you will learn in this ministry can
be a starting
ground for employment opportunities, freelance work or independent study
for educational merit.

Library Ministry – Sister
Dominique Riddick
The GLCC Library Ministry ws created to
give both adults and children access and an increased interaction
with books. Our library has received donations from a variety of
publishers, businesses and individuals alike and hosts a wide
selection of reading material from Christian magazines and
books from notable authors to traditional fiction and non-fiction
for the entire family. Members are issued a library card, as
with a standard library. There is no charge to borrow books,
late fees are imposed for late returns and lost cards. Each
member is responsible for all books borrowed on their card. In
addition GLCC video taped sermons can be rented from the library.
All fees aid us in increasing our current book selection and
making replacing damaged books easy. We are still readily accepting
donations of new and gently used books (including bibles) for
the library.

Prison Outreach Ministry – Elder
Maurice Batts
Greetings from the Disciples of Christ Deliverance Ministries
and welcome to the GLCC prison ministry. Though we are in
our initial stages we have the distinct pleasure of corresponding
with incarcerated brothers and sisters. In our efforts to
restore hope we share with the prisoners that life, incarcerated
or
not,
is in salvation. We look forward to rendering services in
the various facilities in the future.

Campus Ministries – Missionary
Martha Caple
To give knowledge of salvation unto his
people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender
mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath
visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and
in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of
peace.
Luke 1: 77-79
The GLCC Campus Ministry reaches out to
college students teaching about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We witness with our lifestyle and talking with the students.
We fully understand that salvation is a choice. Salvation is
the primary purpose. We are instrumental and effective missionaries
available to encourage any soul that is willing to accept Christ.
The GLCC Campus Ministry visits a college campus at least
once a week.
We have seen many lives touched by this ministry. We pray with
the students as well as give them an opportunity to accept
Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and become a
Christian. Some students have used this ministry to rededicate
their lives back to Christ. What makes this outreach ministry
so unique is that all this occurs right on campus. We visit
the NCCU campus each Tuesday for a minimum of one hour. Our
visits are coordinated with the NCCU
United Campus Christian Ministry.

Food Ministry/Food
Bank – Missionary Gloria
Shaw
The Food Ministries provides prepared meals
and unprepared grocery items to those in need. One of the more
prominent offerings is a hot, prepared lunch after 11am service
on second and fourth Sundays. This is a time of fellowship
for guests and members. We provide nourishment for the body
as well as the soul. We also provide service to the community
with the Food Bank in conjunction with the other outreach ministries…lunches
for the children’s programs, distribution to the different
communities visited by the Salvation Troop. The items are donated
to Disciples of Christ from local grocery stores and prepared
(if needed) by church members.

The Voices of Deliverance
Mass Choir – Rev. Emmanuel Bass
"
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass
me about with songs of deliverance. Se'lah." Psalms
32:7
The Voices of Deliverance are dedicated to
lifting up the name of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through songs of praise and worship. Through
our songs we are ministers and we strive to administer a message of Encouragement,
Strength and most of all the assurance that GOD really does love each
of us. Each of the members of the Voices of Deliverance are reminded to
live a life Holy unto GOD in order for the songs that we sing to be filled
with the yoke destroying, burden lifting power of GOD.

Housekeeping
and Maintenance Ministry – Missionary Gloria
Shaw
We are the one’s that
keep the Lord’s house “in
order” in the most literal sense. A church may not seem
like a lot of work, but even the smallest church house requires
the assistance of a team of caring and diligent individuals
dedicated to the meticulous task of making sure the carpets
are cleaned, rooms are swept and materials are kept in pristine
condition at all times. This involves but is not limited to:
vacuuming before every service, maintaining ample supply of
paper towels, soap, bathroom items, light bulbs and just about
anything else you can imagine to make everyone’s next
visit seem just like the first. Take the time to look around
sometime, and know that it took someone’s loving hands
to put each piece on its place.
